Treating the injured in the ER

Here's one of the less-graphic photos I'm comfortable sharing. You can't readily identify who the injured person is, so I'm okay showing you this -- what a typical scene in the ER looks like. This patient was brought in on a Blackhawk. The cameraman is filming for a piece that will air on a major TV network later this fall. Immediately after being treated in the ER, this patient will go to receive a CAT scan to look for further head/neck injuries, and then on to the OR. Most Iraqis stay at the hospital to recuperate - insurgents, civilians, Iraqi Army and Police. Americans will be rushed back via C-17 Aeromedical Evac to hospitals in Germany and the U.S. Again, the flow is constant at the hospital -- the major trauma hospital in Iraq. Posted by Picasa
